STUDENT SAFETY AND SECURITY
Safety and security of NHC students is a top priority. Each program maintains a staff/coach-to-student ratio of approximately 1 to 12. Students are required to wear identifying name tag lanyards at all times. Small group coaches will be accountable for students during all field trips. Coaches will also act as Residential Advisors and will be housed on the same floors as the students. Male R.A.’s will be housed on the same floors as male students and female R.A.’s will be housed on the same floors as female students. R.A.’s will do nightly room checks at curfew. Coaches will meet with their assigned groups every morning at breakfast.
TUITION:
Tuition for all programs is $2299. Tuition includes housing,
three meals a day, course materials, academic expenses, activities,
transportation to all activities, airport pick-up and drop-off
service (to Los Angeles International, Baltimore Washington or Regan International ONLY), 24-hour
supervision, and access to 24-hour medical treatment (cost
of any treatment is the responsibility of the family).
TRANSPORTATION
Students are responsible for transportation to and from the program. If students fly into the NHC designated airports and the designated times listed below, airport pickup and/or drop off will be provided by NHC at no additional cost. If students fly into any other airport, transportation to the program site must be arranged separately. NHC cannot provide airport pick-up or drop-off at any airport other than the designated airports.
Designated Shuttle Times:
Shuttle service is included in the NHC tuition for arrivals between the hours of 12:00-4:00 p.m. on arrival day and prior to 12:00 noon on departure day.
Shuttle service outside of these hours may not be available or will only be available for an additional shuttle fee.

PAYMENT
A deposit of $400 is due with the student’s application. Final payments must be made according to the payment schedule on the enrollment application.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you have to cancel for any reason prior to May 1, 2009, you will receive a full credit valid for any program through 2009. The NHC office must be notified in writing by fax, e-mail, or mail. No credits will be issued for cancellations received on or after May 1, 2009. Cash refunds will only be given with the purchase of travel insurance.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
NHC offers families travel insurance for $99.00, due at the time of registration. Travel insurance entitles you to a full refund of all tuition paid if you cancel for any reason prior to May 1, 2008. If you cancel on or after May 1, 2008, you will receive a full credit valid for any programs through 2009. The tuition credit is transferable to a family member or friend and is valid toward any NHC program. Separate travel insurance premiums at the rate of $99.00 must be purchased for each program in which a student is enrolled

and downtown Los Angeles, Georgetown University in our Nation's Capitol, Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore Maryland and Emerson College in Historic Boston, Massachusetts.

LMU was founded in 1911 as an outgrowth of St. Vincent’s College, the first college in Los Angeles. In 1928, the then Loyola College moved to its current location on the Westchester bluffs between the Pacific Ocean and downtown Los Angeles. Two years later, it became Loyola University. FACILITIES:
Students will be housed in the residential housing facilities at LMU, Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University, or Emerson College,
two per room. Bedding linens and towels are provided. Washcloths are not provided. Many students do prefer to bring their own towels.
FINANCIAL AID:
A number of full and partial scholarships are available to
applicants based on a combination of need and merit. For additional

FUNDRAISING:

DRESS CODE:
Dress for the majority of the program is business casual or
casual attire. During portions of the program, students will
be required to wear professional attire (coat and tie for
males-- suit/slacks and blouse or dress for females). A detailed
packing list will be available to all participants in March.
SMALL GROUP WORK SESSIONS:
Students will be placed into work groups of 10 to 14 students,
with an experienced coach in their particular field of study.
Coaches will work with students on academic preparation and
final presentations.

In addition to the hands-on academic portion of the program,
students will have
time to enjoy the wonderful cities of Los Angeles, CA, Washington, D.C., Boston, MA, and Baltimore MD. Some of the sites our students will visit are:

Pacific ocean.
Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and the Hollywood Walk of
Fame
It was once stated that “to visit Los Angeles and not
see the Chinese is like visiting
China and not seeing the Great Wall.” Grauman’s
opulent, awe-inspiring presence
and history has been a cornerstone of Hollywood for more than
75 years.
Students will have the opportunity to visit Hollywood and
its many famous
landmarks such as the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
